Christmas Christmas Christmas

Yay! CHRISTmas is coming. I'm always in a jolly mood one month before Christmas. Somehow, just thinking about the festive season makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I don't know how many of you have actually been doing your christmas shopping or making christmas cards. While we are in the midst of all this fun, let's not forget the real reason why we celebrate Christmas. How can we buy gifts for everyone yet forget the birthday boy?

Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ. This Christmas, instead of just giving gifts to our family and friends, think of how we can give Christ a gift in our own ways. Maybe it can be in the form of an offering, maybe a change of a behaviour. It's your personal gift to our God! (:

Christmas Party on 27th December

Our CG will be celebrating Christmas on the 27th of December with our very own Pot Luck party. Everyone who goes should bring a little something to eat. (Those who can't cook can buy or get your mum to cook something!) As Zenas said in his sms, let it be a time of fun, food and worship. It's a great time to bond as we ponder over the last year as a CG and how we can make next year the start of a more loving, focused and growing CG!

Youth Camp Over

Youth Camp

Well done to those who have survived the Youth Camp. I know the camp has been extremely tiring and super fun, and I believe almost all of you have muscle aches now right. Didn't you find the games this time very different from previous years? (Remember the Zenas VS Ryan battle in the ring?) Thank you Caleb for leading this crazy youth camp this year.

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and grown a little more in their walk with God. As the holidays slowly draw closer and closer to an end, lets appreciate whatever little time we have left with each other. How about another CG Outing? We should do something we haven't done together yet. Any suggestions?

CG Session at my house

Realised I haven't blogged about the CG session at my house. Where the girls cooked and the guys led worship. The girls thought we had cooked too much but at the rate that some of the boys went (Ryan having 6 huge slices... or was it more?) we actually managed to finish 4 BIG TRAYS of Pizza. Scray stuff.

So proud of the worship led by the guys. Ryan, thanks for leading, and all the other guys for playing the instruments and singing so BRAVELY. I believe Kai Li has it all on video. I will post pics when I get the time. Can't wait for our next jamming session again!

CG at Germaine's home

Hello everyone!

For those who don't know, CG this Sat will be held at my house. ("My" as in "Germaine's")
I think it's good to have a change of location once in a while, don't you agree? We shall all meet at 1.30pm at the Admiralty MRT station before proceeding to my place.

Once we've reached, the girls will be in charge of preparing lunch for everyone. The guys will proceed to plan a worship session for us. By this I don't mean just choosing the songs and having Raymund play the guitar. Guys, you will have to not only choose the songs, but play the instruments and lead the session! I have a guitar, keyboard and a lousy drumset so you can make use of these for the worship session.

After the girls and guys have completed their tasks, we will have lunch, followed by a time of worship and finally a short BS session. Then we will head off for the 5pm service. Do let me know if you will be coming or not so I can keep track. As for what to bring... Bring your Ezlink cards, hungry stomachs and a hunger for worship! See you all there!

Love,
Germaine

Hello World!

Hi all. I'm so glad people are actually visiting this blog again. I'm starting to feel a little less lonely and less like I'm talking to myself.

Basketball

I don't know about you guys, but I sure thought the basketball session we had was a blast. Kai Li, Zenas, Amanda, Marcus, Grace, Sherri and Yong Ling were there! Thanks ling ling for coming! For those who didn't come, we met at around 7.15pm at the court across the church and played basketball, twister and a really strange game of monkey. Playing at night is really different from playing in the day. Lets hope we can do this more often.

Lunch

Amanda suggested having lunch this sat before CG. (Amanda, that means you are in charge of the lunch meet) Those who are going, please let Amanda know. We will be meeting at 1pm at the Woodlands MRT station and eating at causeway point. Try to make it if you can.

CG Outing

The holidays are here... I am feeling so happy for you guys. This also means that its high time we have a CG outing once again. We need suggestions guys! Shall we do something special this time?

Zenas - with regards to your birthday suggestion, of course we can post the dates up. But... can you help the leaders collect the birthdates of all the members? (:

CG...

Hi all,

As promised, we will take all the feedback we got last Sat very seriously.

Some stuff mentioned include:
- The option of splitting the CG so that each smaller group can grow closer.
- People in CG being left out.
- Leaders not spending enough time with the boys after CG.
- The atmosphere in CG getting less energetic and vibrant.
- Zenas wants Pastor Vernon as his leader!!!
- Leaders not caring enough for members on a daily basis. (Outside of church)
- Not enough CG activities.
- BS sessions not interesting enough.

We thank you guys for your comments and we (your leaders) will try our best to see how we can improve things. Having said that, it IS in fact going to be the holidays soon anyway so I do believe it's a good time to get everyone up on their feet and lively again. We used to be loud and crazy remember? Remember, also, to sign up for camp please! The early bird discount will be ending really soon! You guys going?

Lastly, we must also never forget that the whole point of CG gathering is about God. Hope you guys have been spending time with Him, reading the bible and praying. Till next Sat, Ciao!

A NEW POST!!!

To anyone who actually stumbles on the blog by chance... We APOLOGISE for letting the blog stay so stagnant for such a loooooong period of time. Lets see what has happened in the meantime.

Raymund has entered the army
OK, so we all miss having him around. But we are so proud that our really cute leader has entered NS and is doing very well there! As you all know, Ahem, Raymund is now tall, dark, thin and handsome... But not only that, for those who do not know, Raymund has entered OCS, which means that he is going to be an officer. Only 10% of NS men are actually chosen for this so we should all be VERY proud of Raymund.

Exams are here
I cannot believe how quickly it's been but the exams are already here. I guess that's a good thing because it means that the holidays will soon arrive and the CG will finally have time to bond and have fun.

Youth Camp
Have you guys seen the recently youth camp video in which our dear leader, Caleb, was the star of? For those who didn't catch the dates in time, the new camp date is actually from 1-5 Dec 2008. Guess who our camp Commandant for this year is.... CALEB! So make sure you guys all go. Remember to get your parents approval and sign up quickly once registration starts so that you only need to pay $65!

Can you imagine that you guys will no longer be the youngest people in the Youth Ministry?

Lastly
Once again, I apologise for letting the Blog go into hibernation and from now on, I will do a better job monitoring it. However, I must admit I am lousy at HTML. I have been trying to figure out how to add a tagboard to this site and I still don't know how! Can anyone help?

Also, if you guys know of any news that I've missed out on, or anything else to announce... Please let the leaders know!!!

Lots of Love,
Your CG Leaders

Open Sunday and Valentines day

Seems like time really flies. Once again, it's open Sunday week. And don't worry guys, we assure you that next week's games won't be ridiculous. Remember to get your consent forms signed and bring your sports attire. Since it's on Sunday, am I right to assume that people like Nadia and Grace can make it? (:

Anyway, we also want to take this opportunity to talk about the Valentine's Day dinner. As you guys already know, the condition is that only those who are brining non-christian friends are invited. We hope that you guys take this seriously instead of just bringing your friends for the SAKE OF BRINGING. This event is going to be quite fun (alot of planning has gone into it) and it would be an EXCELLENT time to share the gospel with the people you LOVE. So please do take it seriously. Really think about who you want to invite and pray for them alright?

P.S. Keep the comments coming but please stop SPAMMING with nonsense. ZEN!

First Week of School

Hey guys, welcome to the magical world of teenhood. (And while you guys enter it, half your leaders are very unwillingly stepping out of it)

How was your first week of school? Please let us know! You can post it on the comments section or if you want to type alot, email it to us and we will post it up for you. We want to know your first week's experiences. I guess some of you haven't started on the really serious stuff yet, but don't worry, you'll soon get your share.

Study hard, have heaps of fun, make tons of friends.

SECONDARY SCHOOL ROCKS....
